Programming

School Based
September - May

Through our school-based programming, iFlourish provides middle and high school girls with curriculum, mentors, project based learning activities and career exploration opportunities. We can tailor our approach below based on the needs of the school and students. Students meet twice a month after-school and students must be nominated by school staff or parent to attend. The program is provided free of charge for students with school or grant funding. Minimum partnership commitment for partnering schools. School based partnerships and/or sessions can be tailored to school needs.
Community Based
Our community based program partners with local community organizations to provide girls with biweekly sessions. This program model is executed in a community setting with community based organizations. This program’s format can be adjusted to support the organization's efforts with the support or our program leads. Participants can join for free with program expenses covered by grant funding.

Our Approach
Holistic Development: "Spilling the Tea"
Our girls have an opportunity to discuss topics related to their daily lives in today's society. During our "Spilling the Tea" round table sessions girls cultivate their social emotional skills while engaging in topics ranging from friendships, school, goals, self awareness and self esteem, resilience, and communication.

Career Exploration

Heading 2
Mentor Talks: Black Girl Brilliance
Each quarter, girls will hear from an array of speakers to learn more about their personal and professional journeys. Our girls will explore careers and learn about how these incredible women exceeded without gender limitations. Every girl deserves to see herself as a leader. We envision a world where when Black girls see who they want to be and believe if they can dream it, they can achieve it! We are in the process of building a virtual database of these mentor talks to support girls within and outside of our community.
"A Seat at the Table"
After each Mentor Talk, students will apply their knowledge from presentations and mentors' explore careers by hands on activities and projects to more about their future career paths. These activities will be rooted in project based learning and building 21st century skills.
